Where to find it in the menuโ
Misc โ Toxic chat
How to enableโ
- Menu (
Insert) โ Misc โ Toxic chat. Turn on the State toggle in the page header: the script is off by default. - In Send when, choose the events. By default only "I killed an enemy" is selected.
- Check the Enemies list: by default all enemies in the current match are selected.
What it doesโ
- After a selected event, it sends one phrase to all chat (visible to all players).
- Events:
- I killed an enemy โ you killed an enemy;
- An enemy died โ an enemy died, no matter who killed them. If you killed them, the "My kill" list is used;
- A teammate died โ a player on your team died. Your own death does not count.
- Enemy deaths are counted only for players checked in Enemies. This list does not apply to teammates.
- Does not trigger if you are a spectator or not connected to a server.
- A pause of Message interval (5 s by default) is kept between messages, including during several kills in a row. Events during the pause are skipped.
- Phrases are picked in random order and do not repeat until the whole list has been used.
{name}in the text is replaced with the nickname of the player who died. If "Use player names" is on and the nickname is empty, the phrase is skipped.- The message is cut to the chat size limit (127 bytes: about 127 Latin characters or 63 Cyrillic ones). Double quotes, semicolons and backslashes are replaced with spaces.
Enemies
- The list shows the enemies on the server. Numbers next to a nickname distinguish players with identical nicknames.
- New players are selected by default.
- The selection is remembered by SteamID on this computer: it persists between matches, after nickname and team changes, and after the script restarts. It is not saved to the config. The selection for bots applies only to the current match.
Language
- By default phrases are sent in the language chosen in Language (initially the menu language).
- Automatic language: the language is chosen for each player who died based on their latest chat messages. Until they have written anything โ based on their nickname, then English. Numbers and emoji do not change the language. In this mode Language only selects the list to edit.
Built-in phrases
- Each language has 120 phrases: 60 for "My kill" and 30 each for "Enemy killed by someone else" and "Teammate death". Half of the phrases contain
octarine.cc. The phrases contain no profanity.
Your own lists
- Each language and event has its own list, 9 lists in total. The list to edit is chosen in Language and Edit messages for. When sending, the list for the event that actually happened is always used.
- The lists are stored on this computer, separately from configs.
- Filters ("Use player names", "Only octarine.cc messages") hide phrases but do not delete them: when the filter is turned off, they come back.
- Restore defaults and Delete all affect only the selected list. "Restore defaults" also replaces your edits in that list.
