Where to find it in the menu

Skin Changer → Viewmodel

How to use

  1. Menu (Insert) → Skin Changer → Viewmodel.
  2. In the top-left corner of the preview, choose the CT or T side. In the weapon strip at the bottom, click the weapon you want.
  3. In the top-right corner, choose what to color: Weapon, Gloves or Hands.
  4. In the panel on the right, choose a material and a Color, and adjust the material parameters if needed.

Chams are applied in the game immediately.

What it does

Preview

  • Shows the selected side's first-person view the way the game draws it: the hands of the equipped agent (or the default one), gloves over the hands, and the weapon in its skin. The weapon appears with the draw animation.
  • Rotate by dragging with the mouse; the mouse wheel zooms.
  • Buttons at the bottom of the preview: Replay draw, Inspect, Wear & pattern (the weapon skin, as on the Loadout page), Rain droplets (see below). In a narrow window the chams button is also here.
  • The name of the weapon or gloves and their skin is shown at the bottom of the preview.
  • The weapon strip under the preview: this side's knife, then pistols, mid-tier weapons and rifles from its loadout. The selected weapon is highlighted.

Weapon, glove and hand chams

  • Change the material of the first-person models: the weapon in your hands, the gloves and the hands. Only you see this. World models and what other players see do not change.

  • Each weapon has its own chams. Gloves and hands are configured separately (the Weapon / Gloves / Hands switch in the top-right corner of the preview; "Gloves" is there only if the side has gloves).

  • Materials: Off (own material), Flat, Illuminate, Fresnel, Hologram, Latex, Crystal, Metallic. You can choose from the list, with the arrows, or with the mouse wheel.

  • Color — a tint over the material. Clicking opens the palette. White leaves the material as is.

  • Some materials have their own sliders, which appear under the palette:

    • Illuminate — Brightness, Scale;
    • Fresnel — Rim Edge, Rim Centre, Rim Tightness, Rim Falloff, Brightness, Opacity;
    • Hologram — Blend Mode;
    • Crystal — Glow, Opacity;
    • Metallic — Metalness.

    Each material remembers its own values, even if you switch to another one and back.

  • Keep original appearance — draws the weapon's own material under the chams. Unavailable while the "Off" material is selected.

  • Apply to all weapons — puts this weapon's chams on all weapons (gloves and hands keep their own). Asks for confirmation first; you can turn off the question in the dialog. Gloves and hands do not have this button.

  • Right-click on the chams panel or on a weapon card in the strip — Copy chams / Paste chams ("Paste" appears after copying): material, color, parameters and "Keep original appearance" are carried over together.

  • Reset all materials (the button next to the "Weapon / Gloves / Hands" switch) — after confirmation, all weapons, gloves and hands return to their own materials. Inactive while there are no chams.

  • Chams are saved to the config.

The same chams for a specific weapon can be opened with the Chams preview button on the weapon preview on the Loadout page.

Rain droplets

  • The Rain droplets button (with droplets) at the bottom of the preview opens a panel for the rain droplets on the first-person view. The button is lit while your own droplets are on.
  • While Override rain droplets is off, the map decides: droplets show while it rains and you see the sky. The sliders are inactive then.
  • Turn on Override rain droplets to show the droplets at your own Droplet wetness and Droplet speed instead of the map's rain — both on the preview and on your first-person view in game.
  • Map weather on the Map effects page also changes how the droplets look in game.
  • If the button is dimmed and its tooltip says "Needs a newer client", your client version does not support this feature.
  • The settings are saved to the config.

FAQ

Can other players see my chams? No. Only the first-person models on your screen change.

I used "Apply to all weapons", but the gloves and hands did not change. That is intended: gloves and hands are configured separately. Choose Gloves or Hands in the switch in the top-right corner of the preview.

There is no "Gloves" option. The selected side has no gloves. Choose them on the Loadout page (the Gloves tile).

There are no rain droplets on my hands and weapon. Without your own settings the map shows the droplets — only while it rains and you see the sky. Open Rain droplets at the bottom of the preview and turn on Override rain droplets. If the button is dimmed, a newer client is needed.

How do I remove all chams at once? The Reset all materials button next to the "Weapon / Gloves / Hands" switch.
