Humanizer
Dota 2 ยท Settings. The main switch for automatic actions: scripts issue orders through the humanizer (attack, movement, using abilities and items), and changing the camera distance and angle also works through it. Without it, most scripts that do something for you do not work.

Where to find it in the menuโ
Settings โ Humanizer
This is a toggle right on the Settings tab, with no separate page. The other rows of the tab are described in Menu settings.
How to enableโ
- The humanizer is off by default: it is held by the "Server anti-cheat" part of Safe mode. While that part is on, the toggle is greyed out and cannot be turned on โ not by a click, a config or a hotkey.
- Turn off the "Server anti-cheat" part: Menu (
Insert) โ Settings โ Safe mode โ the Server anti-cheat card โ turn off. Or just click the greyed-out Humanizer toggle โ the Safe mode window opens directly on that part. - Turn on Humanizer (Settings โ Humanizer).
Some scripts that need the humanizer show a "Required humanizer" note in their menu with an Enable button. The button asks for confirmation ("Enable the humanizer?") and turns off the "Server anti-cheat" part itself if it is in the way.
What it doesโ
Why it is needed
- Script orders go through the humanizer: it moves the cursor and camera to the order's target smoothly, like a real player, and only then issues the order.
- When a script sends a unit (move, attack move, patrol) or casts an ability or a scan at a point far beyond the screen's edge, the humanizer clicks the minimap, and the camera stays where it is.
- While the humanizer is off, orders that scripts issue through the humanizer (move, attack, stop, using abilities and items on a target or point) are discarded and not executed. Only orders that don't need the cursor go through: buying and selling items, glyph, leveling abilities, toggling toggle abilities and autocast, no-target abilities, disassembling items and locking their combining, unloading from the stash.
- The exception is scripts that, with the humanizer off, send the order themselves bypassing it, but only where the cursor already points (where your own click would have gone). This is how Auto Last Hit works: in "Under cursor" mode, without the humanizer, it attacks the unit right under the cursor and moves the hero to the cursor, and the "Near cursor" and "Automatic" modes come down to the same thing without the humanizer.
- Your own clicks and orders go to the game as usual; the humanizer does not affect them. The exception: while a script runs a combo on your units, your walks, attacks and casts at a unit for them are blocked; this is set on the Orders page.
- Without the humanizer, the Camera page does not work either: the camera distance and angle stay standard.
- In Demo Hero mode, script orders are executed immediately, even with the humanizer off. This is why a script may work in demo and not work in a real game.
Relation to Safe mode
- In Dota, Safe mode is split into parts, each with its own toggle:
- Server anti-cheat โ keeps the humanizer off. Valve's server anti-cheat checks game orders against the cursor and camera; the humanizer moves them to the scripts' targets, and the anti-cheat may recognize a script by these movements.
- Convars โ locks features that change game console variables (for example, weather, river).
- Until you change a part separately, it follows the overall Safe mode. Both parts are on by default.
- The Safe mode state is stored on the computer, not in the config: applying a config or a config code does not change it.
- Turning off "Server anti-cheat" is at your own risk.

FAQโ
The script does nothing / the combo doesn't fire / automatic actions don't work. Most likely the humanizer is off. Turn off the "Server anti-cheat" part of Safe mode and turn on Settings โ Humanizer.
The "Humanizer" toggle is greyed out and won't turn on. It is held by the "Server anti-cheat" part of Safe mode. Click the toggle โ the Safe mode window opens โ and turn that part off.
The script works in demo mode but not in a match. In Demo Hero mode, orders go through without the humanizer. In a match, the humanizer must be on.
The script buys items / levels abilities, but doesn't attack or cast. Without the humanizer, only orders without a target on the map go through (buying, leveling, no-target abilities, etc.). For attacks, movement and targeted casts, turn on the humanizer.
Why does Auto Last Hit last hit without the humanizer while other scripts don't attack? With the humanizer off, Auto Last Hit sends the order itself, but only on the unit right under the cursor or toward the cursor โ where you would have clicked. It does not hit creeps away from the cursor without the humanizer. Other scripts that attack and cast on targets anywhere on the screen need the humanizer on.
The camera distance doesn't change. Camera works only through the humanizer.
