Safe mode

All games · Settings. Keeps the features that are easiest to get banned for locked, so they cannot be turned on by accident. On by default.

Where to find it in the menu

Settings  →  Safe mode

In CS2 and Deadlock it is a toggle. In Dota 2 there is a button in its place that opens the Safe mode window with separate parts.

How to enable

Safe mode is on by default. Turning it off is at your own risk.

CS2 and Deadlock

1. Menu (Insert) → Settings → turn off Safe mode.
2. The question "Disable Safe mode?" appears. Click Disable. The Keep enabled button cancels the action.
3. You can turn it back on with the same toggle, without confirmation.

Dota 2

1. Menu (Insert) → Settings → Safe mode button.
2. The window has two cards: Server anti-cheat and Convars. Click a card's header to turn that part on or off. The parts are toggled independently.
3. A part that is off is marked in red: "Off: the features below are unlocked. Use them at your own risk".
4. Done (or Esc / Enter) closes the window.

Clicking a locked row

• CS2 and Deadlock: offers to disable Safe mode (the same question). After it is disabled, the notification "Safe mode disabled" appears.
• Dota 2: opens the Safe mode window on the part that holds the row. The relevant card is highlighted with the accent color.

What it does

• The mode is stored on this computer, separately from configs. Applying a config, switching configs with a key, or loading someone else's config by code or from the gallery does not change it. Resetting settings in Configs does not touch it either.
• If a hotkey or a logic rule tries to turn the toggle off while the menu is closed, nothing happens: the mode can only be turned off through the confirmation.
• While the mode (or one of its parts) is on, the affected settings are held in one of these ways:
  • Locked: the row is dimmed and does not accept clicks, hotkeys or rules;
  • Forced on / Forced off: the toggle stays in the safe position, no matter what a config, hotkey or rule sets;
  • Forced: <option>: the dropdown has the safe option selected;
  • At most / At least: the slider cannot be moved past the safe value.
• Hovering over such a row shows the tooltip "Locked by Safe mode". In Dota 2 the part name is added to it, for example "…: Server anti-cheat".
• In the Safe mode window (Dota 2), each part lists its features: the name, where it is in the menu and how it is currently held. Clicking a feature closes the window and opens that setting.

Dota 2

Server anti-cheat

• Valve's server-side anti-cheat compares game orders with the cursor and camera. The humanizer moves orders toward the scripts' targets, and the anti-cheat may recognize a script from these movements.
• While this part is on, Settings → Humanizer is forced off, and the Main → Camera page is locked ("Needs the humanizer").
• Without the humanizer, scripts do not issue automatic orders. So features that move the hero, attack or use abilities on their own do not work, or work in a limited way, while this part is on (for example, the "Near cursor" and "Automatic" modes in Auto Last Hit).
• The combo, orbwalk and Kill steal of the Heroes tab do not work without the humanizer: the General page and the hero page tabs show "Humanizer disabled" with an Enable button (General).
• If a script shows an Enable button next to a note about the humanizer, it asks "Enable the humanizer?". After you confirm, the Server anti-cheat part is turned off and the humanizer is turned on. You can turn it off again in Settings.

Convars

• These features change the game's console variables. The server can track them, and they may lead to bans in the future.
• While this part is on:
  • Changer → Emoticons chat — forced off;
  • Changer → Weather and Changer → River — forced to "Default".

CS2

Deadlock

• Aiming (the Aimbot tab, hero aim, Souls, HVH):
  • Type — forced to "Standard"; Smooth Type — forced to "Humanized";
  • FoV radius — at most the safe value;
  • Smooth Pitch and Smooth Yaw — at least the safe value.
• Ignore smoke walls, Turn onto target and Around cover (Players, Creeps, HVH, hero abilities and finishers) — forced off; Correct misses only and Ignore invisible — forced on.
• Aimbot → Anti-aim and the anti-aim in HVH — forced off.
• Aimbot → Anti-frog → HS threshold (%) — at most the default value.
• HVH: opponent selection and Show panel are locked; Kill messages are locked.
• Selecting the "Semi Rage" or "Rage" preset and turning on HVH first ask whether to disable Safe mode. If you decline, the selection is rolled back.

FAQ

A setting is greyed out and can't be clicked. It is held by Safe mode: hovering over it shows "Locked by Safe mode". Click the row: in CS2 and Deadlock you will be offered to disable the mode, in Dota 2 the window opens on the relevant part.

In Dota 2 the script does nothing on its own: it doesn't attack, move or cast. Most likely the humanizer is off. It is held by the Server anti-cheat part. Turn this part off in the Safe mode window (Settings → Safe mode) and turn on Settings → Humanizer. This is at your own risk.

I applied a config with Safe mode off, but it is still on. This is by design: the mode is stored on the computer and is not transferred by configs. Turn it off manually.

The CS2 aimbot doesn't work even though it is on. While Safe mode is on, the aimbot and recoil control do not work at all. More: Aimbot.

I put a hotkey on a locked feature and it doesn't work. Hotkeys and logic rules do not change locked rows. First disable Safe mode or the relevant part of it.
