The Phantom Strike card opens with the icon in the corner of the ability tile or with a right click on the tile. The tile on the Alternative combo tab has its own card with its own values. The other tabs of the page are shared by all heroes โ€” see Hero page.

How to enableโ€‹

  1. Menu (Insert) โ†’ Heroes โ†’ Phantom Assassin โ†’ turn on the header toggle of the page (off by default). The general requirements (main toggle, combo key) are in Hero page and General settings.
  2. Turn on the Humanizer: the combo does not work without it.
  3. To send illusions off in the combo, turn on Send illusions off in a combo on the Illusions tab (off by default). To send them off at any time, assign Send illusions off (not set by default).

What it doesโ€‹

Combo

  • Default plan order: Blur โ†’ Stifling Dagger โ†’ Phantom Strike โ†’ Fan of Knives (Aghanim's Scepter).
  • Blur is cast only if the walk to the target is long enough to fade and come in unseen. If the target is close or Phantom Strike will get her there anyway, Blur is skipped.
  • Stifling Dagger is thrown from its range while Phantom Assassin approaches.
  • Phantom Strike: if the target is beyond attack range, she blinks as soon as it reaches instead of walking. If the target is already within attack range โ€” as the card says:
    • Once its buff ends (default): a blink for the attack speed, while the Phantom Strike buff is not on her and a charge is left after it for a target that runs;
    • On cooldown: whenever the ability is ready;
    • When the target runs off: only once the target is farther than Runs off beyond; until then Phantom Assassin walks.
  • Fan of Knives โ€” when the target is in its radius, usually after Phantom Strike.

Illusions

  • Phantom Assassin's illusions (from Manta Style or a rune) walk off each its own way, 1500 from her: the first toward your fountain, the next ones to the side of it. While walking off, an illusion attacks no one.
  • In the combo: with Send illusions off in a combo on, as many illusions as Illusions sent off walk off; the rest fight.
  • On a key: while Send illusions off is held, all illusions walk off โ€” in the combo or out of it.
  • While the hero's toggle is off, illusions are not sent anywhere.

FAQโ€‹

Phantom Assassin doesn't Phantom Strike to a nearby target. With Once its buff ends, a blink at a target within attack range goes only for the attack speed: while the buff is still on or no charge would be left after the blink, the ability is saved for a target that runs. Pick On cooldown to always blink.

The combo doesn't cast Blur. Blur goes only on a long walk to the target, when Phantom Assassin has time to fade before reaching it. From close range, or when Phantom Strike will take her to the target, Blur is skipped.

Illusions don't walk off. In the combo they walk off only if Send illusions off in a combo is on (off by default). Outside the combo โ€” only while the Send illusions off key is held. The illusions must be under your control.

Why does one illusion always run to the fountain? That's intended: the first illusion walks toward your fountain and the others to the side of it, so the enemy can't tell where the real hero is.
